100 artists team up to benefit Artspace
Artspace is pleased to present artroulette, a new fundraising event for the gallery. 100 pre-selected artists will be randomly assigned to 25 teams of 4 with the help of a wheel of fortune. The teams have one month to create collaborative artwork which the gallery will award to winning raffle ticket holders.
artroulette begins on Friday, September 26, 2014, from 6-7pm, selecting participants' names randomly until all artists have been assigned to teams. Each team will independently determine how their work will be created, what materials will be used, and the total number of pieces to be made. The collaborative pieces will be installed in the Plant Zero Project Space hallway galleries for the Fourth Friday Opening on October 24th, from 7-10pm.
Some teams will be working at Artspace. Work in progress can be viewed Sundays, September 28, October 5, and October 12 from 12-4pm and Sunday, October 19 from 12-2 pm.
An opening reception for the artists of artroulette will take place Friday, October 24, 7-10pm. Completed pieces will be on view from October 24 to November 28, 2014. The Plant Zero Project Space is open to the public Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm.
Raffle tickets will be available for sale to the public for $5 each beginning June 28, 2014. Tickets may be purchased from Artspace members or directly from the gallery. Raffle winners will be selected by random drawing on Friday, November 28th, 6-7pm.
